30 Days and Counting

I woke up this morning and it all became real.  30 Days before my first Book Signing and the official launch of my book “ASK: The Questions to Empower Your Life”.  I’ve been emailing back and forth with my contact at Barnes & Noble who has been very gracious in helping me set this all up.  Today she asked me ‘how many copies of your book do you want me to order’.

The silence in my head was deafening.

I have all the new author jitters.  Will anyone even buy the book while I’m there much less want me to sign it?  How many books should I tell her to order? What if I’m sitting there for two hours with a pile of books no one wants to buy? What if we don’t order enough and run out?  I’ve never done this before, I have no idea how all of this works.

I also started Social Media marketing for the book today posting ASK-ism Meme’s on Facebook and Twitter and Pinterest and LinkedIn which are Quotes from the book put into ‘poster’ style meme’s.  It’s not easy putting yourself out there like that, posting things with quotes that YOU wrote/said.

On top of it all, last night I held the first ASK CirQle (beta) group meeting.  A group of amazing friends who have agreed to help me pilot a program I’ve put together to help people who have read the book to ingrain the principles of the book into their lives.

Yesterday I felt like just another guy trying to figure out my way in this world.  I woke up this morning feeling more like an actual Author.  It’s both frightening and exciting at the same time.

Time to buckle my seat belt and hang on for the ride.  I have no idea what it will be like but one things for sure, in 30 days I’ll find out.
