Twitter fail and how to build relationships
Well, that did not take long. We are in our third class of the semester and already in today’s news a story of tweets that just went wrong. In my classes that I teach at Metro State University and for Dex Digital around the country I am known for saying “Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never…..post when you’ve had something to drink.” With the passage of the Marijuana laws in Colorado I have now added a “no posting after toking” rule as well. Social Media postings, especially when you are using the tools for marketing of your business, are not the place to post your outing antics unless of course you would scream them into a megaphone in front of your mother. From the following article it looks as though teachers in Colorado are guided to never post anything that you would not write on your classroom blackboard, another good rule to post by.
The additional articles give you some very good basics on building relationships, which, in case you have already forgotten, is what social marketing is ALL about. Authenticity and relationships. Enjoy today’s posts and in the comments please share what your social media mission statement is as you have begun developing it.
