Daring to Dream
Many people who otherwise might not normally play the Lottery likely put down two dollars this week for a chance at the record $1.5 billion jackpot. A chance to change their lives.
For those who did they likely walked away with their ticket and hoped, perhaps even prayed, to win. To have no more financial worries and even more, to live a life of luxury. We’re all human, there’s nothing wrong with hoping and wishing your ticket would be the winning ticket.
But did you dare?
Did you dare to dream? I mean really dream? Remember dreaming? When you were little and you didn’t worry about “how” or “how much” or “when”? You just dreamt. You dreamt of the impossible and the improbable. You dreamt of big things and little things. You dreamt the dreams of your heart. It was fun, it was exciting, it was daring. You had no inhibitions, you had no fears of failure, you simply had your imagination fueled by your heart’s desire.
In my latest book A Better Life the hero, Oliver Goodwin, not only dares to dream, but dares to risk everything to pursue his dream. His journey is one of risks, dreams, hope, and triumph and it changes his life.
So, back to my question. Did you dare to dream?
Perhaps your ticket had none of the winning numbers, perhaps you had one or two. Either way, you didn’t match enough to win it all.
Then again, if you dared, if you let yourself dream, maybe you did win after all. You don’t need a lottery ticket to dream again.
Find somewhere quiet, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and listen to your heart. Let go of all the “hows” and “whens” and just dream.
You might find that it changes your life after all.
